Presenting at the Schools of the Future Conference

On November 14th and 15th, the 2024 Schools of the Future Conference, an event that brings together educators from all over the state of Hawaii to the Hawaii Convention Center, was the perfect platform for me to present my case for the Korean language. The audience consisted of teachers, school administrators, and educational policymakers, people who had the power to make decisions about what languages should be offered in schools. My goal was to convince them not only of the value of adding Korean to curricula, but also of the broader educational benefits that such a move could have. This was my chance to make an impact beyond my school and show that the inclusion of diverse languages in schools was essential for preparing students for a globalized future.

With my presentation, I advocated for the importance of Korean language education, explaining its cultural significance, the growing influence of Korea on the global stage, and how learning Korean could help students develop skills in language acquisition and cross-cultural understanding. The response from the audience was overwhelmingly positive, which further fueled my determination to see this vision come to fruition.
